Having purchased the Presto electric tea kettle as a gift, I find that it indeed supports the standards set in the description of the product. It is indeed very quick to boil water although the cord is incredibly short. I very much recommend this product as it is well worth the low price.
I recently purchased the new Keurig B-70 Gourmet Single Cup Home Brewing System that was released on October 1st, 2006 and have been very happy with it.The machine is extremely well designed, simple to operate, aesthetically pleasing, and most importantly, brews an excellent cup of coffee.I am very impressed with how quickly it is able to brew a cup of coffee, the selection of brew sizes, and how simple clean up is.
I am using this kettle for the last 30 days and i've already used it about 30 times or more. So far no leak no problem. this kettle hold 1.70 liters which is about 57.50 Oz.
This percolator makes a great pot of coffee.Trouble is, it doesn't stop boiling the coffee after it finishes percolating.Its warm cycle is too robust - makes me think the one I bought is defective or just not completely compatible with 110 current.
We've been using this kettle at work just fine. It's very light weight but has a tall receptacle that holds the kettle well so we're not concerned about tip over.
Whenever we boil water in this, there is always a metallic and plastic smell.
I use it for tea almost everyday.Very convinient to use.The ruler on the window tells you when you need to refill the water, and it didn't take very long to get water to 195 degree. There is a timer function, so I can put the water in the previous night and make tea or other breakfast in the morning.I like it.
I have used electric kettles for many years and they are the best way to boil water -- they are faster and more energy efficient than the stove-top kettle and you don't risk burning them when you forget that the kettle is on the stove. My old electric kettle died and I started looking for a new one.
I got one of these, even though I had read other reviews about them leaking.I figured they'd fixed the issue by now....not correct.At the bottom of the pot, where the plastic and metal come together, boiling water will leak in large enough quantities to burn you.It's NOT a good quality piece of equipment.

We have already had a similar boiler (of the same brand) at home for several years. It is very easy-to-use, quite reliable, and very well-suited for a household whose members love tea and instant coffee.Due to this reason, we decide to buy a second one (whose price is very reasonable at Amazon.com). The only thing you need to pay attention is that you need to remember to fill the boiler with water when the water is about to run out.

This tea kettle has a great look, just the right size, but I wish it had a gentle whistle.
Ugly rust began to form early on and continues to increase.I am concerned about the health effects of drinking water heated in this unit.
I am very pleased with this tea kettle.I was hesitant after I read some reviews that indicated it poured sloppily and dripped.I trust KitchenAid so I bought it anyway.I don't know if these users were trying to pour through the whistle hole or why they had trouble.I open the whistle top over the spout (it has a silicone covered lever) and have had absolutley no problem pouring from this tea kettle. It heats water quickly and pours easily without dripping and has a great warranty.It also comes in great colors!
This kettle was awful from the get go: it is really really cheap plastic (there is good quality thick plastic and such); the lid wouldn't open enough
This arrived today and although I haven't even plugged it in, I am already disappointed.The main problem is that the boiling water obviously will come in contact with a plastic component. I chose this kettle to avoid boiling water in plastic! The other thing that bothers me is that the product description makes it seem like it was made in Switzerland, but it was actually made in China.I am returning this.I regret spending so much money on it.
My mom is 83 and almost blind and I needed a safe pot for her.The other nonelectrical pots last 6 mths before the heat from the stove or the minerals in our water deteriorate them so they leak and rust--- even the stainless ones.This pot comes off the base that plugs in making it easy to fill.You fill it, flip the switch, wait a minute or two and when the light goes out, the water is ready.It is lighter and easier to handle than a regular pot.I wish it came in other colors, but the red is very pretty.My mom and I both highly recommend it.
I looked at many electric tea kettles before purchasing this one. My intention was to find a fast way to brew tea without using my gas stove. I also wanted to avoid plastic, and this was attractive because the pot is stainless and the heat element is under the stainless and doesn't come in direct contact with the water. Alas the water level is plastic, too bad, could easily do without that level if there were level lines inside the pot.
Works well as a hot water heater.Does not percolate well over the tea bags resulting in very weak tea no matter now many bags you put in.Turns itself off before the tea has had time to steep.I received this as a gift and would not recommend it to anyone.
We love our Michael Graves tea kettle!!It's a work of art so we don't mind leaving it setting out on the stove.We've used this tea kettle almost everyday for three years and the finish still looks great.Too high heat will discolor the stainless as stated in the instructions.Heating on medium to medium-high heat has been just fine.The whistle is whimsical and useful.Initially we were hesitant to pay this much for a tea kettle, but now we're glad we invested in something beautiful and practical.
I had one of these for almost six years and used it on a daily basis (not just for making tea, but also for boiling water quickly for other uses, i.e. food preparation).It always looked great and was a pleasure to use, but one day it stopped working.So I went online and looked at all of the kettles currently available.I thought about trying a different brand, but all of the other stainless steel kettles (I wasn't interested in plastic) had something I didn't like about them -- an awkwardly placed handle, an exposed element, etc.In the Chef's Choice kettle the element is hidden, so the interior of the kettle is easy to clean (it pretty much doesn't have to be cleaned at all, since only water is ever put in the kettle), and if the element gets covered in scale, I don't know about it (Chef's Choice does recommend occasionally "decalcifying" the kettle by boiling some white vinegar in it -- I never did this with my first kettle and I wonder if this eventually led to it malfunctioning?).The handle doesn't extend over the opening of the kettle, so it is easy to fill, and the spout is truly dripless.And of course the cord is attached to the base, not the kettle itself, so there is no need to plug and unplug it when carrying the kettle to sink or table or stove or wherever.So I'm on my second Chef's Choice kettle and very happy with it so far.I'm the kind of person who doesn't go in for a lot of kitchen gadgets, and I don't like using electric/electronic items when a manual or mechanical one will do, but I definitely recommend an electric kettle because it is energy-saving, fast, and won't boil dry (if you forget about it) or annoy you with a whistle (when you're busy doing something else).
This is the 3rd electric teakettle I have purchased recently. The last one purchased through Amazon burnet a hole in the bottom in just a few months. This one also with an American product name of course like all the rest was made in China. Do I expect it to last? Not really! It is very cheaply and poorly made.

Okay, to some the idea of using a French press coffee maker is a little too precious, bordering on snobbishness. I used to be in that boatuntil a few hours ago.Tonight on a whim, I purchased this Bodum French press.Now I should warn you readers that it is generally NOT a good idea to test out your shiny new french press when you are getting home at 10:30pm on a Monday after spending way too much money at Target when you just ran in to get "dog food".I write this review so heavily caffienated that I will probably stay up until dawn tonight re-organizing my closets or alphabetizing my CD collection or doing some other useless task.Despite being a dailycoffee drinker (of the muddy variety the office's Bunn machine churns out), one cup from the french press has knocked me into the stratosphere, and that alone is worth giving this product 5 stars.
We own one for over 6 years now.Love it.Only problem is that because it's mechanical (air pump), that eventually wears out.I think the seal in the pump need replacing.It used to to fill a cup with just one pump, but now takes 10 or more pumps.

I make coffee in a Chemex 1-3 Cup Coffee Maker and controlling the pour is important. It's almost impossible to control the pour from a standard kettle. The Buono drip kettle allows very good control and really makes a difference in the coffee. I boil water in a kettle then transfer to the Buono and let the water sit for one minute which gives it time to cool to the right temp (about 92C). I believe it's OK to boil the water in the Buono but I don't. I make sure to dry it when I'm done and only use it to pour. So far, it's been excellent.
I was looking for an ice tea maker with a glass pitcher.Liked the way this one looked.Bought one, worked fine for a few days, then it wouldn't turn on any more.The on button would fail to 'click' and light up, as it had before.Nothing.Thinking maybe I had gotten a lemon, decided to try a replacement since as I mentioned in the title, I really liked it, when it WORKED.
I moved to the U.S from the U.K 5 years ago and my first task was to find an electric kettle. I was amazed to see how rare they were and it took a while to track one down.(I was without a computer for a while, so maybe that was why}. I found a great looking one in this product, but was very dissappointed when it died early after 1 1/2 years. I got another one thinking it was just bad luck, but lo and behold. It has just died again of the same problem. The connection on the base gives up. First it will work if you spin it round on the base until the light goes on, but then it just has enough of that andbecomes good for nothing. I won't be buying a 3rd. I am looking for a different brand now. For the price, I expected it to last longer than 2 years.
As a college student I have limited access to a kitchen. I have another hotpot that I use to make soup and such, but I decided to purchase this hotpot to have a small one to heat up water for cocoa/tea/etc.I've been sorely disappointed with its performance.
Have bought two now (from a different store)and both have leaked water through the water level indicator, which seems to be just glued into the kettle housing. Not impressed, definately will not buy again, as in this case I don't think third time lucky will exist!
I've only had it for a couple of days but it seems to be a great little pot.I used to heat my water in a tea kettle on the stove - it took way too long and I'm sure it used a ton of electricity.This pot heats up fast in comparison.It is hard to tell at first if it is on or not.The indicator light is not in an easy to see spot and unless you are in a dark room it just isn't bright enough to tell if it's on or just reflecting light.It pours nicely - no mess or drips.It's sort of loud when it heats up, but maybe that's true of all of this type of appliance - I don't know since it is my first.I like that it shuts off when you pick it up from the base.All in all I like it so far...
I did not realize that this kettle must be unplugged when you are not actually boiling water.This is very inconvenient for us because of how our tiny kitchen is set up.Also, the footprint is pretty large.
I have owned this tea kettle for five years and it has proven to be as good as other Alessi products. It is easy to clean, comes to a boil rather quickly and clicks off when done. Beautiful style is expensive in the world of tea kettles. If you can put up with ugly, there are many tea kettles to choose from. There is no reason for manufactured goods to not look like designers worked on them rather than engineers and if you want a tea kettle to make a statement, this is it.
This is a nice quality cup and infuser -- it's sturdy and comfortable.The infuser is resistant to staining and the little lid that is used to keep the heat in when steeping can be turned upside-down to act as a holder for the wet infuser when you remove it from the tea.
We have had this electric kettle for three months. It has been in use almost daily. It does its job quickly. The spout pours better than most pitchers we own. I would recommend this kettle for anyone that wants a reliable kettle but also looks nice on the counter top.
I bought this kettle because I wanted one that was all stainless steel on the inside.With some of the cheaper electric kettles, God only knows what chemicals are leaching out of the plastic and into the water you're about to drink.Many of the reviews of the plastic hot pots even mention the plastic smell of the water after you heat it.This is why I spent the extra thirty dollars to get one that was all stainless steel.
I've used this pot for some months now on a near daily basis and had absolutely no problems.It is a must for the tea enthusiast.Not only is it more stylish than most dispensing pots, it is in a league of it's own for selecting temperature and sustaining temperature over time.It is quick to boil, and can silently keep your water ready for tea for all-day use.
The craftsmanship and finish on the stainless Dualit kettle are superior to all others. Unfortunately, the kettle has two major flaws, and the company has an even bigger flaw.
